I’m A House Gangster welcome dynamic production duo Ralo & Strada to the camp with a “POWAH” 4 track EP loaded with Jackin’ House goodness. The EP title track comes with a rolling Latin fused bass laid over a massive hi-hat driven groove an teased with sirens and samples. ‘Jacky’ does exactly what it’s title suggests, giving a full Jack work out, teased with filtered disco drops that carry a sublime spoken word. Bringing the heat, ‘Corner’ comes with a sun-drenched Latin piano hook, set to a throbbing deep bass and hooky cut up vocals that are laid over infectious jacktified beats. Closing out the show is ‘Low Ride’ – a fierce and energetic groove underpinned by a fiery bass rumble and laced with cool breaks, giving it a Hip House flavor.
“We got the tracks started by introducing Atlanta hip-hop to Miami booty bass. From two different cities, we hustled to make them come to life with motivational vocals, breakbeats and elements of the old school.” – Ralo & Strada
Ralo & Strada aka Raul Peña and Felix Estrella are two incredible producers originating from the world of Hip Hop and making House – one living in Miami and the other in Atlanta. Raul Initially worked in the world of rap and Hip–Hop, emerging from the 90’s Bass music movement. At the turn of the millennium, the move was different, even CDs weren’t selling the same and deejays were the entertainment alternative for a hurt American industry. Being an audio engineer for big Hip-Hop names was getting tiring for Ralo and it felt like it was time to flip the script and speed up the tempo creating fresh House grooves. His productions have been played by Jesse Perez during BPM 2014 and the release of his EP on Sishi Rosch & Diego Moreno’s imprint Digital Delight in 2016. Strada was born in the south of Lima Peru, he then made his way to the U.S. as a young boy. By the age of ten, he was deep into graffiti and falling in love with Hip-Hop. As time passed, his focused shifted to funky rhythms and soul music of the ‘80s and ‘90s. He decided to create his own music and began composing. Constantly in the studio, working diligently and searching each day for new sounds, he fell in love with the raw, filthy, nasty, funky and groovy beats of House Music. It was in 2014 when he crossed paths with Ralo, a fellow producer who shared the same passion. They teamed up for an EP on Miami’s own Mr. Nice Guy Records in late 2015 and are soon to release on the notorious IAHG in 2016, and there’s plenty more to come for this dream team!
